One of the neatest things about this trip was that it kind of felt like we were going back to time. In a lot of ways their way of life was what I imagined life 50 years ago like. At restaurants, they would bring Jenna little handmade wooden toys. They butters, cheeses, and ice creams were homemade from the local farms. We spent one evening experiencing some authentic Swiss entertainment and food. The band was all one family, and reminded me of the family from My Big Fat Greek Wedding. They were loud and very proud to be Swiss and so much fun.
Trying to make music by spinning a nickel around a bowl - I didn't do so hot but Sam was a pro.
The place was packed! We ended up sitting by the nicest family (Scott and Von) who became our friends by the end of the trip. They had a little girl that loved Jenna, and Jenna loved her right back.
Cheese fondue is very popular and traditional here. I loved it, Sam thought it was just okay. He prefers American Kraft to the good stuff.
Dinner was the traditional Rosti (kind of like hashbrowns) with chicken and mushrooms in a gravy/curry tasting sauce.
While we are they played and sang all types of music.
This is the actual type of cow bell that they hang on the strongest cows necks here. They do this so that the strong cows don't run off, leading all the other cows with them.
We had such a fun evening and loved getting to see a little more of the Swiss culture.
